Season 2010 Linda Ross continues as the clubs Junior convenor in 2010. The coaching team is headed by Bob and Alison Ramsay, they will be supported, by several intro level and UKCC level 1 coaches. (A full list of names is available in the coaching section). In partnership with Clackmannanshire Sports Development the club continues to be a part of Sport for Life. This programme initiated by Positive Coaching Scotland helps to create a positive environment, to encourage youth sport and focused on learning and development skills. It affects all aspects of the club not just the juniors and the way members, coaches, administrators and parents deal with junior players. Information about Positive Coaching Scotland is available of the left hand side bar of this page. The partnership with Clackmannanshire Sports Development also involves cricket being taught in all 19 of the County Primary Schools by cricket qualified sports specialists. The club hosts a P5 Primary Schools Festival and a Primary School kwik cricket competition in May each year. Work is ongoing to involve secondary schools in the cricket coaching structure. In 2010 we hope to be able to create more opportunities to play cricket at all levels than was possible in 2009. The Forth Valley Kwik Cricket Sunday morning fixtures will be extended and it is hoped Sunday Mornings can also be used for some Under 13 and 15 games as well as. The intention is to expand the number of junior players available at all levels and so create more opportunities for juniors to play cricket. At present some of our juniors are involved in the Forth Valley Cricket Academy and some more have been asked to attend Forth Valley Area squad Indoor (hardball) coaching on Monday evenings from January till March. This will mean that these players could be selected for Regional Academy and Area competitions which are normally held during the school holidays. A fixture list is produced for the juniors and junior players will be informed about team selection, times and places at the Monday practice before their game. The information will also be posted on the Junior part of this website under team selections. There is also information on the fixture list about contact names and numbers in case of call-offs or bad weather cancellation. A note of all the policy documents concerning the juniors and the forms required to ensure we have correct information about all out young players are available for download at the top of this page. please click on documents and forms. The club is also a part of the Cricket Scotland TopClub scheme (information on this is available under TopClub on the side bar) and we hope to reach Bronze level, at the moment we have accomplished the approved level. The part of the safegaurding and protection of children, the clubs Designated Child Protection Officer is Dr Will Kay. Will is a member of the junior and club committees and a lecturer in Physical Education at Stirling University. He can be contacted at 01259 721387 should there be any concerns which you or your child have about their treatment at the club.
