Day 4 Scotland v Holland at the Railway Union ground. Holland batted first and were all out for 71. Kari Anderson 4 for 12 and Fee Urquhart 3 for "something"!!. Congratulations to young Susan Pedgriff who took her first wicket for Scotland. Not so good the 25 extra's, just like a Scottish Saturday league game! Scotland scored 72 for 3, Kari Anderson 34 not out. After a "five times round the pitch" for the extra's! Hey there's an idea! Its off to the barbecue and a 4.30 start in the morning for the plane home. Well done the kiddo's Day 3 Ireland v Scotland at Malahide CC Ireland won the toss and batted. First wicket went to Fee Urquart when she came on to bowl (with her first ball). This brought Isobel and Cecelia Joyce together and before Jenny Mudie bowled the Irish Captain Isobel had made fifty. Cecelia was then joined by Emma Beamish, who had scored a century the day before against Holland and the pair proceeded to increase the run rate. Rain interrupted play for around 50 minutes and the umpires decided to change the number of overs, (but that's another story). The innings ended 3 overs short with Emma Beamish on 93 and Cecelia in her mid fifties(runs that is). The final Ireland total was 275 for 3, with a total of 60 extra's, so its not just the Scottish male teams that can't bowl straight. Scotland's reply was better than yesterday at 90 all out, Kari Anderson made 38, Caroline Sweetman 14 not out, Jenny Mudie and Fee Urquart both made mid teens scores. Tough Kari, no hatrick. Day 2 Scotland v England at College Park Scotland were all out for 57 in 24 overs. Diane Pedgriff 14, Kari Anderson 8. England made 58 for 3 in 9.1 overs. England's first wicket went down with the score on 56, caught Black bowled Anderson. England scored one to tie, then Kari Anderson removed the next two batters, both for Golden ducks. The winning run was scored next over. Kari is on a hatrick on her first ball of the next game. Game over by 12.30pm rest of the day spent on practice and team talks. Day 1 After an interesting flight from Edinburgh, especially the landing, the team settled into their home from home for the next four days. The rest of the day was spent in training, team talks, eating, more team talks etc etc. |
