Friday 28th December The pre-Hogmany night was a fantastic success with a massive crowd present to see Man of Mystery all-rounder Kevin King presented with the silverware. Congratulations to Kevin on his great feet and on recieving the trophy without dropping it. Photographic evidence on the Man of Mystery page. Sunday 9th December The final round of the 2007 Clam of Mystery was a Go Kart race, held in Larbert. This years Jam of Myscary was..............(drum roll.......... or cheese roll....) Kevin King. Kev will be presented with his trophy at the club night on the 28th of December - lets hope he's got a good strong shelf to keep it on. Wednesday 5th December Committee Meeting at the Arns 7.30pm The junior football teams had a penalty shoot-out competition and social event on Sunday 2nd of December which involved some 250 contestants. Saturday 1st December the pub quiz night was a great success attracting teams of four from all over the building. Graham Fraser did a brilliant job controlling events and asking the questions. The winners on the night were the extremely knowledgeable team from Larbert High school. Our thanks to the Larbert team for the kind donation of their prize money to the club. Note the regular opening of the bar will be discontinued from 23rd November until the film show evening on the 18th January, normal service will resume after this. Saturday/Sunday 24th 25th November The next fantabulous round of the Ham of Mystery, this time it's cricket 2007, electronic game warfare. Yawn!!!! sorry, that just slipped out. The changes made to the committee at the AGM are available on the committee page. Next years AGM will be held on Thursday 20th November. Details of the club activities over the winter have been added to the social section. Thursday 23rd November CCCC AGM if you are a paid up member you should have been sent the papers for the AGM. If you have been meaning to pay and it "slipped your mind" then there is still time, contact Jim or Walter or this site and you can be sent the papers. Remember only paid up members and those over 18 can vote at the AGM, so do it now!. Saturday 3rd November the next riveting round of the Bam of Mystery takes place in Rileys in Stirling - you chance to find out the biggest Pool hustler in the club - The balls drop at 4pm. Saturday 27th OctoberThe Junior awards evening and quiz night was a great success, congratulations to all involved in the organisation and thanks to all the parents members and juniors for making this event possible by attending and taking part throughout the season. Wednesday 18th October the following members passed the coaching introductory level course, Linda King, Kevin King, Ken Lang, Graeme Anderson and Callum Lyons. This course allows the aforementioned to help with coaching under the direction of a qualified ECB coach. Well done to all. If you missed this opportunity there will be another one along in a wee while, so speak to Linda or e-mail this site and put your name on the list. Sunday 14th October The next exciting round of Man of Mystery was Ten Pin Bowling. Wow, these guys know how to live!!!!! Next Round Pool, first weekend in November. Saturday 6th October The first round of the Man of Mystery took place. What or who is the man of mystery? Well may you ask! It seems to be a closed season player thing, organised by club Captain Graeme Anderson. Want to get involved speak to Ando. The umpteen a side off-season football has started and takes place on Wednesday nights(usually), at Tullygarth. Speak to Ando if you want to take part. The end of season work on the square has been completed. The work was done professionally this year by a bigger machine to attempt to remove the undulations in some of the wickets. This should make wicket preparation next year a bit more straightforward. Mind you in comparison with some away pitches............. The Arns is now in regular use as a training ground for young footballers between the ages of 6 and 16. Claremont Boys club supervise the coaching. The boys will be training at the ground two or three times a week until the clocks change then again in the Spring. Sunday 16th September The sponsored walk suffered, like the latter part of the season, from rain - so much so that only twelve brave souls took part in the event. Saturday 6th September The Alloa XI played Kismet at Duloch Park, Dunfermline, in a FCU and lost. Report... Rumour of a game against Broomhall on Sunday has been confirmed, the game was at Broomhall, Alloa XI lost but as yet the score is a mystery. Noor was captain?? Saturday 1st September The FCU game against Kismet has been cancelled since both clubs grounds are needed for ESCA Division 8 games. The 2nd XI beat Corstorphine 3's at the Arns. B Cutter 41, A Cutter 31, T Sultan 4 for 13. Sunday 19th August The ESCA Presidents Cup Final at the Arns was cancelled. The rainfall over the last 24 hours was about 30 - 40mm. See pics and that's with £75,000 worth of drainage. By Tuesday the whole ground was dry that's £75,000 of drainage! Saturday 18th August 1st XI play Largo 2 at Largo,Game cancelled due to .......rain, Oh! What a surprise!.- Sunday 19th 2nd XI v Preston village at Prestonpans, cancelled, water world again! Monday to Friday 13th/17th. A coaching course under the auspices of Clackmannanshire Sports Development and organised by Kari Anderson, the Sports Central/cricketscotlands cricket co-ordinator, took place at the Arns. A group of young cricket hopefulls were put through their paces by coaches Alan Oliver and Bob Ramsay from CCCC, with the help of Sean Ferrie and Chris Morton from sportscentral. The young cricketers spent their time developing skills and playing games. Congratulations to all who took part so attentively and a reminder that Junior practice takes place on a Monday evening till the end of the season starting at 6.30pm. Friday 27th July. A large white tent on the outfield was used to celebrate the marraige of James Cox, the clubs popular second team captain. The club would like to congratulate, James and Ashley, Mr & Mrs Cox and wish them well in their future together. The effect on the 2nd teams results tomorrow, after the celebration, will be interesting. Wednesday 25th July Arns XI v Gargunnock at Gargunnock. Win for Gargunnock SCORECARD Saturday 21st July 1st XI v Preston Village Away, for the second week no ESCA game at the Arns? Game abandoned with Clackmannan on 39 for 4. No rain here until after 8pm, pity there was no game at the Arns. Friday 20th July U16 v Largo at the Arns. In a last over thriller Clackmannan's U16's beat Largo. Details to follow? Apparently not! Report Wednesday 11th July Clackmannan County should have hosted the Forth Valley Kwik cricket competition. However the teams due to take part withdrew because they could not find eight under 11's to play. What a pity on such a beautiful evening, the Clackmannan Kwik cricketers carried on and played a game anyway. Sunday 8th July Alloa XI beat Broomhall in Forth Cricket Union 20/20 game at the Arns. Alloa XI 130 for 7, A Rasul 63no, D Smith 31. Broomhall 87 for 9 for 7 C McNish 2 for 17, G S Oliver 2 for 10. Scorecard Saturday 7th July The 1st XI played Grange 4 at the Arns. At tea Clackmannan were 390 for 4, G Anderson 100 no, C Black 72, G Jones 50, A Rasul 55. The euphoria of the Clackmannan score was quickly dispelled, as 4 overs into the Grange innings, one of the Grange batsmen fell and had to be taken by ambulance to hospital. Grange conceded the game. All at Clackmannan wish to pass on our best wishes, and hopes for a speedy recovery. Latest news is that the injured party is home and is recovering. Wednesday 4th July & Thursday 5th July CCCC took part in the Network Rail "No Messin'" activities days held at Tullygarth sports centre. Coaches David Wilson, Alison Ramsay & Bob Ramsay, with help from Chris Morton from sportscentral (Wednesday) and Kari Anderson, Forth Valley development officer (Thursday) worked with groups of 5 to 16 year olds, coaching skills and playing games. Well done to Linda King for setting things going and keeping the club in the public eye. Sunday 1st July The 2nd XI game against Dunbar was cancelled, Dunbar could not raise a team. The Alloa XI v Dunnikier in the Forth Cricket Union, cancelled due to bad weather. June 2007 Saturday 30th 1st XI v Kismet at the Arns, Game abandoned with Kismet on 230 for 3 after 36.5 overs (A Yousef 106). Wednesday 27th U16 v Stenhousemuir juniors at the Arns. Whit a mess, the gazebo used for the Friday evening soiree is reduced to a kit of parts - a bad case of wind if ever there was one. Sunday 24th The Alloa XI v West Lothian game was cancelled due to a misplaced day from February creating water & wind in abundance. Saturday 23rd The 1st XI v Kirk Brae 2's cancelled, pitch unplayable. The 2nd XIgame against Preston Village 2, at the Arns, was cancelled. Friday 22nd June The annual U13 v Mums and Over 13 v Dads games took place at the Arns. The family evening seemed to go quite well despite the monsoon style weather. Details eventually! Aye but not here, try the Alloa Advertiser. Sunday 17th June - Alloa XI V Glenrothes in Forth Cricket Union league at the Arns. Alloa XI 176 in 20 overs, Glenrothes 108 for 8. "The Sunday game this week saw the Alloa XI soundly beat Glenrothes in the Forth Cricket Union at The Arns. The home team piled on 176 in their 20 overs, with Black and Hooper piling on plenty before both retiring. In reply, Glenrothes never bothered the total, and the game finished with them languishing on 108-8. Alloa used a total of 8 bowlers to get through the overs, and it was great to see all the players doing their best." J Cox Saturday 16th June The 1st XI played Largo 2's at the Arns. May 2007 Thursday 31st May The clubs annual Ronald Cunningham competition for local Primary schools took place at the Arns on Thursday. The competion involved some 320 local Primary pupils.
