Match Report Clackmannan travelled to Falkland for the last league game of the season in the hope of salvaging some pride at the end of a difficult season.Clackmannan batted first opening withRichard Passe aand Tipu Sultan. Passe survived until the eleventh over before being caught by Robertson off the bowling of Mike Watson for two runs. Tipu Sultan score 22 inluding five fours before he was run out for 22. Neil Ramsay played an intelligent innings to top score with 34 before being caught by Manson off Meakin. At the other end Alan Oliver scored a boundary ridden 18 and his dad Gordon crafted the same score before being LBW to P Watson. Zahid Hussain (6), James Couper(6) and Jeff Thomas(7) chipped in with a few to give the Clackmannan a final score of 138 all out in 41.4 overs. Falkland opened their innings with Lawson and Jackman to the bowling of Zahid Hussain and Matthew Booth. It was not until the fourteenth over when Booth had Lawson caught behind by Murray for 33 that Clackmannan broke through. Booth was replaced by Neil Ramsay in the seventeenth over and in his first over he removed Manson, caught again by Murray for 5. In his next over Ramsay caught Jackman off his own bowling for 25. Hussain had been replaced by Tipu Sultan and in his sixth over he bowled P Watson for 15. Captain Jeff Thomas brought Hussain back on to bowl and in his first over he had May caught by the captain for 11. Sultan bowled A Hamilton Jnr for 1, then had M Watson caught by substitute fielder Aurangzeb Alamgir for 5. The Falkland innings finished with B Watson on 12 not out and S Robertson on 2 not out. Final total 139 for 7 in 40.2 overs and 20 points to Falkland. Clackmannan can take forward from this game a better spirit in the team than has been noticeable in earlier games with all the players working hard for one another.
